b10cks vs Storyblok

Storyblok is good. The add-ons are the problem.

The visual editor is polished, the component model is solid, and the ecosystem is real. Then you add €15 per seat, €20 per locale, and traffic on top of a €99 base. b10cks ships the same visual editing with seats, locales, stories and components uncapped.

Every feature. Unlimited editors. From €0 / month.

Where Storyblok is genuinely good

This is not a quality argument.

Storyblok changed what teams expect from a headless CMS, and the product holds up. The visual editor is polished, the component model is well thought through, version history is on every tier, and the partner ecosystem is established. If your team and locale count fit inside the included limits, it is a fine place to be.

  • A polished visual editor
  • A solid component model
  • Version history on every plan
  • An established app ecosystem

Where it costs you

Four meters running at once.

The base plan is the smallest number on the invoice. Here is what sits on top of it.

01 / Localize

€20 a month, per language.

Growth includes exactly 2 locales. English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese puts €60 a month of add-ons on the bill. Growth Plus includes 10 and starts at €349. b10cks counts no locales on any plan.

02 / Collaborate

€15 a month, per editor.

Growth includes 5 seats, Growth Plus includes 15. A team of ten on Growth pays €75 in seat overage before anything else. b10cks has no per-seat fee, so inviting a stakeholder costs nothing.

03 / Structure

Stories and components are capped.

Growth stops at 25,000 stories and 600 components. Growth Plus raises stories to 100,000, with more at €5 a month per 1,000. b10cks caps neither, on any plan.

04 / Own

Closed source, cloud only.

You cannot self-host Storyblok, read the source, or run it without a subscription. Custom roles and SSO wait for Premium. b10cks is AGPLv3, self-hostable, with roles and SSO on every plan.

Feature comparison

Same headline features. Different fine print.

Both give you a visual editor, version history, an image CDN and built-in processing. The difference sits in the counters: seats, locales, stories, components, webhooks. b10cks does not run those counters, so the plan you pick is a storage and traffic decision.

Fair is fair

If your editors love the Storyblok interface and your team fits the included seats and locales, the add-on math never fires and the price is reasonable. Storyblok also has a partner network and a support organisation that b10cks, a much smaller team, does not match.

A polished tool your team already knows is worth money.

Price comparison

€204 against €25. Same team.

Eight editors, five locales, 120 GB of traffic. On Storyblok Growth that is €99 base, €45 for three extra seats and €60 for three extra locales, so €204 a month. The same team on b10cks Essential is €25 a month, and the number does not move when a sixth language or a ninth editor shows up.

Essential covers it

€25/ month, that scenario

  • Unlimited editors and all locales
  • Unlimited stories and blocks
  • Free €0 · Growth €75 · Pro €175

Who should pick which

Pick Storyblok when

  • Your team and locale count sit inside the included limits, so the add-ons never fire
  • You want an enterprise-backed vendor and lock-in is not a concern for you
  • You rely on the Storyblok partner and app ecosystem
  • Your editors already know the interface and value that above everything else

The other side

Pick b10cks when

  • You ship in more than two languages and do not want to pay per language
  • Your team is bigger than the included seat count
  • You need custom roles or SSO without enterprise pricing
  • You want the option to self-host and own the infrastructure
  • You want a bill you can predict without doing add-on arithmetic
  • You want a CMS you can read, audit and fork

Before you switch.

One number, not five

Same visual editing. Nothing metered.

Add the ninth editor. Add the sixth language. Add the ten thousandth story. The bill stays where it was.
